In our contract we do not allow the declawing of cats and kittens purchased from Mainely country. We feel that it is dangerous for the cats and kittens and we believe that there are alternatives to declawing. Below is a great link for explaining what declawing is actually like and the alternatives to declawing.

General Information Page
It is our intention that all of our cats/kittens are in the best of health when they leave our home. The cat our kitten you have purchased is at least 8 weeks old and has had its first distemper shots and first worming .It is your responsibility to have your veterinarian give this cat/kitten the rest of the shots required when they are needed.
We recommend that you feed Iams or Purina kitten dry food and 9 lives wet food for the first year . Too much wet food causes plaque build up on the cats teeth and should be avoided, The cat should change to a mostly Iams or Purina adult dry food at the age of one year old. WE urge you never to allow your cat/kitten to go outside. We also strongly advise that the cat/kitten never be declawed.
We wish you and your cat/kitten a long and happy life together.
I accept the terms and conditions of this contract and agree to abide by them.
