I have never before dealt with a professional breeder, and was a bit nervous about doing so when I contacted Dorothy in May, 2004. I had recently lost my 18 year-old cat and was looking to adopt 2 kittens. Dorothy was compassionate, informative and extremely pleasant to work with; my nerves soon disappeared. She helped me get to know my new babies over the next month or so - making it seem as if there was almost no distance between my home and hers. I found her pricing to be more than fair. When I picked up my new kittens, two friends came with me and Dorothy was more than receptive to having all of us interact with both the kittens and adult cats in her Cattery. My Ragdolls are healthy, happy and very social - all of which are products of the environment in Dorothy's cattery. If you are considering adopting a Ragdoll, I would recommend that you do so from Mainely Country Cattery.

I have purchased two female pet kittens from Dorothy, a blue Colorpoint and a Seal Mitted. I call them Lucy and Phoebe. They are absolutely the most beautiful and loving girls I could imagine. They were both obviously raised with a lot of love and kindness, extremely well socialized. Their dispositions are the best anyone could ask for. They are funny, smart (both come to their names), and love to play, especially, with wooden clothespins. Both girls get along well with our other animals, 2 other cats and a Chihuahua. I also have 2 budgies that they never bother. They never stop purring and are always either on me or beside me! They have magnificent coats and don't mind having their nails trimmed on a weekly basis. They make no attempt to scratch the furniture. Dorothy's cattery was a wonderful place to go and visit, which my husband and I did before we even purchased a kitten. All her ladies come to the door to meet you and rub up against you. Everyone there, boys too, and you could tell how much she cares for them and how proud she is of each one of them. I knew right away that I wanted a kitten from her cattery. Dorothy and her husband go out of their way to look after you, as a new kitten owner. They even drove part way to meet us with a new kitten, saving us half of a 4 hour drive to her place, from ours, each way. She is a sincere, honest and lovely lady to meet and knows how to raise her kittens to be wonderfully loving "pursons"!! You couldn't find a better place to get a Ragdoll from! In fact, I'm on the list for another one next year! Don't miss out on a bundle of love from Mainely Country!

year old daughter really wanted a Ragdoll kitten for doing so well in school.
We looked at many different cattery's, but I'm so glad we decided to get this
Seal Bicolor boy kitten from "Mainely Country". This kitten has been a joy not
only for my daughter, but for our whole family. My "3" year old son carries the
kitten around like he's a baby all around the house. He keeps asking when he
can get his own Ragdoll kitten! My husband who is a dog lover, plays with this
kitten in the morning before work & every night before we go to sleep. It's
really funny, because he always said, you can't let the kitten jump in the bed.
But guess where our Ragdoll sleeps? Right by our heads every night, he is so
attached to us, as we are to him. He follows us around our house, I think he
doesn't like to be alone or maybe he just doesn't want to be without us. When
we leave to go shopping, he is right by the door waiting for us to come home.
We've named our bundle of joy "Lucky", because we are so lucky to have such a
sweet kitten! Thanks for raising such adorable, loving Ragdolls!!

I have purchased 4 Breeder quality Ragdolls from Dorothy over the past 2 and
a half years. Dorothy is always pleasant and has a wonderfully Cattery, with
beautiful Ragdolls cats. She is very helpful in assisting me when choosing the
right kitten for my Cattery, is always willing to answer my never ending
questions, and is just an all around fine woman.

I could not be happier with the kitten, George, I adopted from you last November. Not having had a pet in a very long time, I did quite a bit of researching online for about a year and read all about the different breeds of cats. George lives up to the reputation of Ragdolls as being loving, wonderful pets. He has been healthy since day one, his soft coat is easy to comb (I almost don't have to comb him as he takes such good care of himself, but he does love the attention), and he is playful and follows me around like a puppy dog.
My daughter fell in love with George, too, and couldn't wait to adopt a Ragdoll for herself. As soon as she moved into her new home, she contacted you and a few days later brought home little girl Febe. Febe is George's half sister and it is so cute to see them play together. My daughter and I are both very happy with our kittens!

I have purchased two male flame point Ragdoll kittens from Dorothy, Sammy & JJ. I wanted to meet Dorothy and she wanted to meet me. I was very impressed with the breed and also how they were cared for and raised. She does a wonderful job. I had recently lost one of my 18 year old cats ands still have his sister whom just turn 19 and what a great breed the Ragdoll is to have with old cats and dogs. My toy poodles and the cats just love each other to no end. I didn't know cats & dogs could get along so well. The Ragdolls are a very laid back easy going cat that I take camping with my two, 2 year olds poodles because they are so easy to handle and are very adaptable and just want to be with you. I found Mainelycountry on the web when I was searching
Ragdolls. I chose a kitten on line and put a deposit on it. Dorothy, was
wonderfully informative, we kept in touch through and email until the time my
girlfriend and I went up to take a peek at my kitten. This girlfriend had bought
two Siamese kittens from a cattery in N.J. and was very disappointed in the
condition of the cattery.
When we arrived at Dorothy's she was very pleasant and showed us her cattery. It
was soooooo clean you would never know she had so many wonderful Ragdolls, plus
a dog. So, I chose my kitten and went home to wait the time when I could bring
her home.
I have now had Misty for almost a year and she is so entertaining and fun to

He's doing very well by the way, and has bonded closely
to one of our kitties. They sleep together and groom one another regularly. Misu
is such a loving little boy and I often call him my purr baby because his little
motor gets going when he knows I'm going to pick him up and it doesn't stop
until I put him down or he falls asleep. He's incredibly floppy and gives his
complete trust to everyone. He really knows no stranger anymore.
Everyone who meets him, LOVES him and they think he is the most beautiful little
boy they've seen and no one can resist holding him. Even my non cat friends
can't resist his big blue eyes and soft fluffy fur coat.
He's a good eater too and he's already much larger than he was when I brought
him home a month ago. Body frame wise, he's about the same size as my adult
cats.
I read so much about this breed of cat before I considered getting one and I
just couldn't believe it about how they follow you around and go limp when you
pick them up. It was something I had to see for myself.
Misu is exactly as the breed profiles described.
I love him dearly and can't imagine my life without him. I can't thank you
enough for trusting me with such a sweet and beautiful little boy.
